2018 NEH Scholars Visit Nur Allah Islamic Center with Imam Mikal Saahir and Judge David Shaheed

In 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019, dozens of teachers from around the country studied the history and contemporary life of Muslim Americans in a National Endowment for the Humanities seminar held at IUPUI, now Indiana University, Indianapolis. This site features the lesson plans that they designed, the curriculum they followed, and other resources or texts authored or recommended by seminar director and Islam in America expert Edward Curtis. If you are not a teacher yourself, please share this site with your favorite K-12 educators and encourage them to incorporate Muslim American subject matter into their teaching.
